The project I am working on is a small panel with irises. There are some tight inside curves that I used a 1/4" grinder head to get to. Should I be able to cut those or is needing to use a grinder ok and not a sign of needing way more practice in cutting?

No problem there Mia, do whatever you currently find better for you. You WILL develop a repertoire of glass-shaping techniques as you gain confidence and experience.A few successful projects under your belt is the BEST stimulus to improving and getting more adventurous with your shaping next time out.

Some inside curves ARE just too difficult/complex to cut out straight out, and there's nothing wrong with grinding OR grozing them out. All I'm saying is..... learn and improve BOTH your grozing AND grinding, and don't become reliant (or persuaded) that there's only ONE way to skin a cat!!!!!
