Quote: [b] Which grozer pliers do you recommend?
Oh Dear..choosing the right tools for YOU is a very personal thing.......if you are near a SG supplier, take some scrap glas along and ask to try oput ALL theirgrozersd and se which is bestand most productive/comfortable for you. If they're any good as a shop (especially if they're makerstoo) they'll let you try before you buy.
My PERSONAL choice for a newbie like you would be for a pair of combos with a self-opening "return-spring", so you don't getted cramp on a long session with having to re-open the pliers manually each time after a squeeze, which you CAN do by hooking your right pinky/little-finger round the bottom handle as you groze.
But once you're happy with grozing, you can (as I do with whichever is at hand) also do it with breaking-pliers, or ordinary 1/2"-wide-jaws bogstandard flat-nosed (but serrated with ridges in those jaws) household pliers from a cheapo store, and I especially like a pair of 1/8" wide "snipe-nosed" pliers .....from any fishing tackle/hunting shop)...to do REALLY tight inside *impossible to cut or grind* curves. Hell, I even use my teeth sometimes, Mia!
So in answer to "which one", you must try-then-buy as many grozers as you can afford to collect . I'm not particularly recommeding these guys , but if you goto this excellent European Bohle website and navigate the ARTGLASS section narrow it down through "tools" to "pliers", you'll see the vast range that there is on offer, and there are many others on the market not shown here..........Bohle make Siberschnitt tools which many pro glassers think are the dogs bollocks (British for "the best")
