I hope you didn't think anybody here was trying to talk you OUT of getting or using a saw. It's always good to be informed about the pros and cons of everything. I WILL tell you that the Taurus 3 is a much improved version. Takes a fraction of the old maintenance...is quieter (well...that's relative} and much more adaptable. I had been using the Taurus II for years off and on,. My new Taurus 3 arrived 2 weeks before Katrina blew through this area. Taurus got flooded but survived. it was one of the few pieces of equipment in my totally flooded glass room that made it out after 6 months. When you consider that it SAT in water (more like sewage) for the better part of the first month, you can imagine how well the Taurus is constructed. Enjoy it. Just don't abandon your hand cutting skills.
