Brand new to this posting stuff but not to stained glass so I hope I don't do a boo boo.
After 20 + years my Glasscrafter Imperial glass grinder needs to be replaced. Glasscrafters no longer exist. I have tried Inland grinders and they are ok but I realy like the Imperial. Its a real pain to clean but what really makes it great is the large table, the full width fence and the variable speed feature.
The bushings in the motor finally wore to the point where it can't be used. I tried to find a replacement motor or to get it rebushed but got nowhere.
So, I wonder if anyone has one kicking around in their closet or tucked away in the attic they want to turn into some cash.
I suspect there must be a few laying around because the grinder head was propriatory and when they stopped making them, they became door stops.
I figured out a way to use current model grinder heads so if I can can find one or more grinders, I think I can make a good working unit.
So if you know of an old Imperial grinder or hear about one, I would be happy to arrange a trade of cash for it.
I would appreciate any help I can get on my quest to have a working Imperial grinder.
I hope I don't make a boo boo if I post this on other boards as well.
